Pool Info

June 24th, 2010 Lorell Comments off

The board has ordered some new chairs for the pool, but they are not in yet and probably won’t be in until after the 4th of July.

If you are going to the pool (especially over the weekend of the 4th) you probably want to bring some extra chairs in case of a crowd.

Please remember that we are all in charge of keeping the chaos down at the pool, so if there is something going on that shouldn’t be:

1.  ask them to stop/leave

2.  Call the management company (number listed on the pool gate)

3. Call the police or 311

Do what you feel is necessary to keep you and your family/friends safe at our pool and to keep it a family friendly environment.

If you need a pool key, please call the management association and ask them to send you the paperwork to sign to get a new pool key.

First 2 keys are free, after that there is a minimal charge ($5 or $10 – I can’t remember) You can have 2 keys activated at one time, so if there are 3 keys out there – the first will be deactivated (or the one you request, if not the first one issued).

If you have any questions please email the board using the link on the website www.hillcrestconnect.com.

Thanks!

Letter from the HOA President

April 25th, 2010 Lorell 1 comment

Our Hillcrest pool will be open daily starting May 1st, please enjoy. We are very proud of this feature in our neighborhood. If you don’t have a key, please contact Alliance (328-6100) to get this taken care of so you can enjoy our beautiful pool.

Your HOA Board was approached by an area swim club , South Austin Area Barracuda of the Capitol City Summer League, last week. Their pool will not be ready for another week and wanted to rent our pool on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoon for 3 hours each day this week. The instructors are lifeguard trained and do have insurance to cover our pool during this time. Since the pool is not open to the homeowners this week the board agreed to rent the pool for the 3 afternoons. The rent they are paying will offset the price of the new pool furniture we needed to purchase this year, saving money from your HOA dues. We are only allowing this pool rental for three reasons:
-The pool was not going to be opened to our homeowners at this time.
-We wanted to cover the price of the new furniture.
-Some of the swim team members do live in Hillcrest

**During the rest of the pool season, private functions are allowed, but we will not close the pool to other homeowners during this time.

Thank you,
Janie Guill, President

Board Meeting Notes from March 24, 2010

Hillcrest HOA Board of Directors
Meeting
March 24, 2010
Board Notes

1. Discussion of different management companies’ services and expertise.

2. Review of HOA management responsibilities.

We discussed the role of the management company and that we needed a more comprehensive financial report to us at each meeting.

3. Discussion: Review of vendors – their service and effectiveness.

Greater Texas Landscape handles the community landscaping – general agreement that they do an adequate job though questions came up about the plants at entryway that didn’t survive the winter. The playground does not have camera, and we discussed the lighting – perhaps it can be re-directed to focus more on the play area rather than homes.

4. Discussion: pool security and cleaning.

Generally, reports show that vandalism is down in the pool area with the cameras. The security will begin on May 1, 2010, for 4 hours/day; on Saturday and Sunday they will work 7 hours/day beginning the first of June. We discussed chairs that needed to be discarded because they are broken.

5. Discussion/Decision: Delinquent policies review regarding delinquent payments.

We reviewed delinquent accounts and methods to retrieve past-due payments.

6. Miscellaneous Items:

Target publication: Next Newsletter out in mid-May instead of June to make important summer announcements.

Garage Sale this weekend.

Next meeting on April 21

Annual Meeting recap

February 17th, 2010 Lorell Comments off

Well it looks like I’m going to be still doing the website updates…. at least for a while :)   The Annual meeting was pretty uneventful – (no drama) which is good. We did however vote for 2 new board members.  You’re new Hillcrest HOA board consists of (in no particular order): Curtis Whiting, Janie Guill, Louis Dye, Nancy Harlan, Henry Allen – I have served my 3 years and am moving on to smaller and better things :)

Steven and Lorell Loosle will be serving as your new social committee chairs – we welcome all input and help!

First board meeting with the new board is tonight (February 17) at 7  PM at Janies house (email for address and RSVP if you’d like to come).  They will be discussing positions of board members, vendors and relationship with management company, among other things.

(From Jerry: oljer@austin.rr.com) The annual “It’s My Park Day!” clean-up event coming up on Saturday March 6th (9am to 1pm) needs a leader or two for the Hillcrest side of the Slaughter Creek Greenbelt. The focus will be on the trails closest to the creek. The leader(s) will help organize the event and set up the welcome table, sign-in participants, hand out the free t-shirts, and assign work areas to participants. If you can volunteer as a leader, please let me know. Thanks!!

The social committee is looking into possibly helping out with the Slaughter Creek Greenbelt – “It’s My Park Day”. So keep your ears and eyes open for our first events of 2010!
